COUNTRY HOUSE CL16: STAGE 2, VALL D’EN MARCH, POLLENÇA

Stage 2 now also completed of the beautiful Country House CL16.

As mentioned in Stage 1, the owners really felt the house had made a complete change and was now more like a Home. This feeling has motivated them to finish off the rest of the refurbishment and redo the 1st floor as well as the guest house.

We have implemented the same styling throughout the house, with a little touch from the owners for tiling and other small details.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

As customary, the whole Project has been managed by Origen and our trusted team. Unfortunately due to some issues with the original build quality in some areas of the 1st floor, the structure has had to be reinforced, as well as lightening the floor, for there was a lot of material embedded in it, adding unnecessary strain on the wooden beams beneath.
We have also removed some additional material on the Mallorquin walls and fake ceilings to let them breathe and increase the height and natural light.

INTERIOR DESIGN

The top floor felt a little claustrophobic due to the low ceilings and very dark areas, therefore we have given a lot of thought to the natural light treatment as well as the layout, redistributing some of the bedroom entrances as well as the bathrooms and unused spaces to improve these features.

A combination of traditional Mallorquin elements and modernized versions of these have been implemented throughout the build to guarantee an atemporal look. A lot of custom designed pieces have been fabricated to solve some of the limitations and requirements on site. See the obelisk for example, that serves as shower controls in the secondary master bathroom. This has been created not to spoil the beautiful original stone wall, as the clients wanted the controls away from the shower head to avoid getting wet when entering.
Artificial indirect light has been implemented to reinforce the beautiful silhouette of the Mallorquin stone walls, apart from incrementing the light in the necessary areas.
